Stories, Poems and Memories from Family Members and Friends

Things my Father told me

Your best friend is a good dog.

Don’t raise your children, mold them by example.

Having a rifle hanging in the house is not a problem, just watch who loads it.

Always wear boots to mow the grass.

Once you’ve made your bed, you have to lie in it.

Take care of your sisters.

A mean master makes a mean horse.

What more could a fella want, than a pair of hand-knit socks

A moon halo means snow tomorrow.

Never squat with your spurs on.

Take a head cold to the bush.

Marriage does not have to be forever, if you are unhappy, come home and help your mother.

When the bees’ nests are high in the branches, put in lots of firewood for the winter.

If you cannot afford snow tires, drive slow.

Good boots will keep your feet dry.

Always Sing in church and donate what you can.

The true smell of spring is burning off the dead grass..

 Take care of your mother.
