Dear former resident of the Deep River Staff Hotel, Dorms, Annex, and Forest Hall;
An interested group of former residents who still live in Deep River is proposing to publish a book of stories of life and times in that era.
We hope to reach as many former residents as possible, so if you personally
know of the whereabouts of others, please pass this letter on to them. We are including some suggestions for composing your stories.
GUIDELINES FOR STORY SUBMISSIONS
- Keep them as short as possible
- They must be true!
- Identify the time frame of your story
- If names are used, the story should be cleared by those named, if possible
(We do not want to be sued for libel)
- If you have a photo to illustrate your story, that would add greatly to the presentation
- Compose on a computer, if possible. Use Microsoft Word or if using other software, use Rich Text Format (found in the Save As drop-down menu)
- Handwritten stories will be accepted as long as they are legible.
- Sign your story and include contact phone # or e-mail address
E-mail them to June MacDonald gjmacdon@magma.ca

The editorial committee (Al Bancroft; Elda Cook; Jean Beauprie; and June MacDonald) hope to receive all your stories by December 2007. This will allow time for editing and putting together the book, which we plan to launch at a special get-together on the August holiday weekend, August 1-3, 2008 which is also the weekend of the Deep River Summerfest. In order to meet our deadline, we would appreciate a quick response.
