Services and Programs
What We Provide for Families and Individuals of all Ages in the North
Renfrew Area. Referrals can be
made by: self/family/friends, doctors/health care professionals,
churches, police, schools and other agencies.

Confidentiality
The issues
discussed will be confidential. Information will not be
released without a client’s written consent, with the following
exceptions:
1.
Intent to harm someone:
we may need to warn that person, or seek advice from the police.
2.
Intent to harm self:
we will make every effort to protect the client by seeking advice from
colleagues, hospital or police.
3.
Court subpoena:
If served with
a court subpoena, we have to respond to such a document.
During
counseling sessions at NRFS, we will be talking about personal
information. The session will include talking out problems,
problem solving and exploring feelings, and enhancing
self-understanding. All
written information is kept in a locked file for 7 years and is
the property of NRFS. A client may have access to his/her file
or may add notes to this file.
If
a client has a concern or is unhappy with the services provided,
we hope he/she will first discuss this with his/her counselor.
If this is not possible, he/she may bring the concern forward to
the Chair of the NRFS Board.

All of our programs are provided at minimal or no cost.
No
client is denied service due to an inability to pay.
- Emergency Fund: a fund (through community donations) maintained to help people in crisis. Service groups are often called upon to help with
special needs.
- Youth Fund for Camp Lau-Ren and children’s activities (through community
donations).

Past workshops
- Workshop/Program
-Keeping North Renfrew Safe in Cyberspace - a
program aimed at educating parents and children in North
Renfrew about the importance of protecting themselves on the
internet. There are two main ways we will be reaching the
public.
- From the Inside Out -
a series of workshops to educate beauty industry
professionals, and the general public, about what they can
do to help those who make disclosures to them.
