Stewardship Committee
What does the Stewardship Committee do at
Deep River Community Church? One dictionary definition of
"steward" is "a person who manages another's property or
financial affairs". In a sense, this is what we do for the
church. In order to maintain services and function
successfully, the church must rely on material and human
resources. We need the money to be able to carry out activities
plus the people to do this work. Our main responsibility is in
the fall when we mail out a stewardship letter asking members
and adherents to pledge financial assistance for the coming year
and also to indicate in which aspects of church life he or she
would like to participate. In this way the church leaders can
see what resources will be available for the next year. This
year, the Stewardship Committee team comprises Cathy Kyle and
Mary terHuurne.
