Year Round Programs
Aquafit This low-impact program is geared for people who want to tone-up, or for specific fitness of hips, legs, arms or other areas. A perfect program for you to improve blood circulation, release tension and increase flexibility. A year-round program on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30-10:30am at the Community Pool. Evenings classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 - 9:00 pm. Summer Hours:Tuesday & Thursday 9:00 -10:00 am and Thursday evenings from 7:35-8:35 pm. You can purchase tickets at the Town Hall for $53.55/10 Tickets or $27.03/5 Tickets (includes GST), call 584-2000 ext 103 for details.

Early Bird Swim This early bird program is an hour swim Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 6:00-7:00am for people wishing to improve their strokes or just keep in shape. Call 584-2000 for details

Volunteers Required The Recreation Department recognizes the amount of dedicated hours put forth by community volunteers to help with the operation of many of our programs. If you are a former player, know some interesting crafts or just have some free time, do not hesitate to call 584-2000.

Kinderkid Swim This program is offered to kids ages tot to 5 years old upon the availability of the pool during the month of October and December. The times and dates will be posted. Call the Recreation Office 584-2000 for details.

Fall/Winter Programs
Aquajog Aquajog is a one hour deep water, non-impact exercise. A great jogging program for injuries. A flotation device is provided to maintain proper body alignment while keeping the head above water. Tuesday 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Starting January 13 and running for 9 weeks. Sessions are offered at different times during the year.

NEW Standard First Aid New standards for First Aid and CPR.30:2. The Standard first aid course covers CPR, chocking sequences, splinting and treating other types or injuries. It is designed to provides participants with the knowledge and skills to deal with emergency situations and to prevent injuries from happening. This course is a pre-requisite for the National Lifeguard course. 14 years and older.$125.00 + gst. Please register your interest (613) 584-2000 ext 103

6 week mini winter swimming instruction A 6-week mini winter swimming instructional program is held during the winter each year. Please check the Town website at www.deepriver.ca for information.

Spring Programs
Baseball League All leagues have new age categories in order to align with our local minor soccer association in hope to encourage maximum participation. In addition, this 8 week program will have a one week training camp and the opportunity to play in a year-end tournament. Each team will play teams from Laurentian Hills on a rotating schedule. Players signing up after the registration deadline will be charged a $10 late fee.Please check the Recreation Guide (available on the Town Website) for fees and levels available.

Ball Hockey League ages 15 and over This year the Recreation Department will be organizing a ball hockey league for ages 15 & over at the Deep River Arena. Teams are made through a draft system. Jr. Lifeguard Club This program is for children from the age of 10-14 years who have obtained their Aquaquest 10/Rookie Partol and want to broaden their knowledge and skills and transform them into lifeguarding skills as well as have fun. The content will include water sports, fitness, leadership development, first aid training and lifeguarding techniques. The 'Club' keeps children interested and active in aquatics - especially quick learners and those caught between levels or programs. It is perfect for youth who thrive in an energetic environment. Summer Programs
Summer Arts Camp Over the course of each session, local artists from the community will provide an introduction to artmaking skills through traditoinal and non-traditional art projects. This program will offer a wide variety of art elements including drama, visual art and pottery to name a few. Sessions run Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Session 1 - August 10 to 14, 2009, ages 13 to 16 years. Cost $100.00 + G.S.T. Session two - August 17 to 21, 2009, ages 9 to 12 years. Cost: $100.00

Summer Registration Registration for summer programs will begin May 25th, 2009 at the Deep River Town Hall. Please sign up early to avoid disappointment.

Playgrounds Playgrounds is a fun and exciting program for children ages 4-8. From 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Children play games, make crafts, sing songs and take hikes which are supervised by trained leaders. Sessions are held at Lamure Beach. The program operates with two sessions of three weeks from July 7 - July 23, 2009 and/or July 28 -August 13, 2009 with a cost of $15/child (family rate - $15/$10/$7 second/third child).

Summer Swimming Lessons The recreation staff run extensive swimming lessons at the Community Pool. Sessions during spring, summer and fall offer programs for tots, beginners, advanced and adults. Summer lessons offer 3 two-week sessions. June 29- July 10, July 13-24 & July 27-August 7. Classes are being held Monday to Friday. Summer registration will take place on May 29 at the Deep River Community Pool.

Summer Sports Camp Are you between the ages of 8 - 14? Do you enjoy playing sports like basketball, football, soccer, floor hockey and baseball? Then you can't miss this year's Summer Sports Camp! Qualified staff, trainers and Deep River Community Clubs will all come together to teach the fundamentals of multiple sports during 4 two-week sessions. Ages 8-10: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 10:00 am - 3:30 pm. July 6-17 OR August 3 - August 14. Cost $55.00 per session. Ages 11-14: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 10:00 am - 3:30 pm, July 20-31 OR August 17 - 28. Cost $55.00 per session. Play a differnet sport everyday! Ultimate Frisbee, Canoeing, Martial Arts, Golf, Lawn Bowling, Beach Volleyball, Circuit Training, Swimming, 5 Pin Bowling, Tennis, Backpacking, Handball & MORE!!!
