Prepare Craft as normal and paint. Let dry completely
Add a layer of white glue with a brush (thickness of glue will affect the width of the crackling. Let glue dry completely.
Then paint on top of the glue (one stroke only) otherwise it crackle effect will be lost. For a see through effect or antiqued use a 50/50 dilution of Stain/clear acrylic and water. Let dry completely and the crackle effect will appear.
Suggestions:
1) do a practice run to ensure you get the proper effect and
2) don’t fuss or do multi strokes of top coat (it affects the glue layer).
