  Tissue Paper Flowers

Roses

  • fold tissue paper(8 1/2 x 11)  (or Kleenex) once lengthwise, wrap the folded edge tightly around the end of a pen/Pencil leaving  the open edge as loose as possible.  Slide of the pen and twist the end and you have a large rose bud.
  • similar to the above but use a twig, rather than a pen, wrap tightly. Instead of sliding off you wrap the base of the flower and twig with green florist tape....long stem rose.
  • for a fuller rose use multiple layers of tissue paper

Carnations

  • layer 4/5 tissue paper (8 1/2 x 11) on top of one another, fold accordion style lengthwise (if long paper can make more than one flower).
  • tie string tightly in the middle of the folded paper.
  • Spread each layer of tissue paper gradually apart on both ends until it forms a large carnation...use excess string to attach to things.
  • note if it is not full enough you can add more paper next time or pinch the center together tightly.
