The Castle By Sofia Turner
Grade 5 Honourable Mention 1997 Christmas Story Contest
Last week I went to visit my cousins at their new house . There was a castle
nearby . I said: Lets go and see what in the castle!. My cousins said both at the same
time: No, is it is to dangerous!. However, I put my shoes on and walked towards the big
door. Tom and July, my cousins, went right after me and I asked: Are you both coming with
me?. They answered: Yes. We are scared but we want to be all together!.
When we got there, we went into the castle looking for old things to collect.
Suddenly, we heard a noise. Somebody was there with us. We tried to go out but the door
was locked. Then we went upstairs and went into the attic looking for a place to hide
ourselves. We heard steps coming up. We were very scared of being there alone, we didn't
move, we didn't make any noise. Somebody came very close to us, but it didn't find us.
After a while we decided to go down because we didn't hear anything. We went slowly
downstairs, looking around and when we were close to the big door, somebody talked to us:
Hello, my name is Shana. What are your names? I replied: We are Tom, July and Tomas. She
said: Why are you so scared of me? None of us answered her, and after a long silence she
said: Lets. go, come and have some cookies to eat. She also gave us chocolate milk and we
had a very nice time with her. She told us that she felt very lonely living alone. After
that day we became very good friends of Shana, and we went to visit her every afternoon. |
