Check out the Event
DRCC volunteers organize typically two church suppers
per year, a ham and bean supper in the spring and a turkey
supper in the fall. These community events are well attended
(100-120 people) and serve social and fundraising functions.
Friday Coffee Mornings: The CEC acts
as a drop-in centre for coffee, cookies and fellowship every
Friday morning from 10:00 to 11.20 am. This is a very well
attended event, attracting both congregational and wider
participation. It is hosted by a group of DRCC volunteers.
recently moved to a morning slot at
09:00, usually the first Saturday of the month. Like the coffee
mornings, participation comes from across the wider community.
Chior: Each Sunday morning from
September to June, they sing the hymns with the congregation.
Rehearsals are every Wednesday evening at 7:30 -9:30, from early
September until June. Anyone who is
interested in singing with the choir is most welcome -
just call the church office at 613-584-2812.
Ten Thousand Villages Craft Fair:
is organized each fall by our Mission
Committee in collaboration with the Ottawa 10 000 Villages
store. Here we sell Fair Trade crafts and foodstuffs from
developing-world producers with money returned to them to
provide fair wages, healthy and safe working conditions and to
support educational and community development opportunities.
Our Fair makes a significant contribution to the operation of
the Ottawa store. ∑
