Outdoor Facilities
| Advertising Opportunity | The Deep River Recreation Department provides businesses the opportunity to advertise at the Deep River Arena and Grouse Park. A 4' x 8' advertising space can be rented at these high traffic locations for excellent rates. A perfect chance to generate exposure. You can now advertise on the arena boards. | Grouse Park | This area is about 17 acres in size and includes a lighted and fenced in softball fastball diamond with score clock, spectator bleachers, a field house with washrooms and canteen. Kids can enjoy the playground apparatus situated at the park and the whole family can enjoy the additional land surrounding to play soccer, fly kites and take walks down the fitness trails. The new Grouse Park Soccer Field is ready for soccer action and can be booked by calling 584-2000 Ext. 105.

| Hill Park | This is a maintained park area used for casual activities such as soccer, football, ultimate, and kite flying. As well, there is a small baseball diamond and a playground apparatus for kids to enjoy. In the winter months there is a lighted outdoor ice rink available and the hill is used for sliding and skiing. |
| Additional Parks | There are additional park areas with swings and playground apparatus located by Silvie, Centennial Campus, Huron, Algonquin, Thompson-Rutherford and the school yards. |
| Lamure Beach | Lamure Beach provides qualified lifeguard service from June 26 to August 7, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. by the Community Pool lifeguard staff. Lifeguards will be on duty from Noon until 5:00 p.m., seven days a week. The beach is equipped with two volleyball courts and a playground apparatus is also available for people to enjoy. The lifeguard clubhouse has washroom facilities with running water. Picnic areas are available and campfires are permitted in a designated area with permission from the Fire Department. Staff will be promoting the use of the beach by hosting FREE activities. |
| Ottawa River | Deep River is situated along the historic Ottawa River which has a large stretch of natural beaches along the Quebec side. The beaches are maintained and provided with picnic tables and toilet facilities by the River Recreation Improvement Association. |
| Pine Point Beach | Pine Point Beach is a family beach with no lifeguard supervision provided. Barbecues and hibachis are permitted with permission from the Fire Department. Washroom facilities are available for public use. |
| Golf Course | Approved by the Royal Canadian Golf Association, this nine-hole course offers a par 72 over 18 holes. Featuring mens, ladies and junior programs, club house, pro shop and social activities. Pro lessons available for all skill levels and age groups. Call 584-3991 for details. |
| Marina | The Deep River Marina is a gateway to more than 400 kilometres of Ottawa River waterways. Marina slips are available to over 90 boats. Services include docking for visiting vessels on a first-come, first-serve basis, launching ramp, gas, oil, ice, soft drinks, telephone, pump-out, washrooms, marina radio and nearby snack bar. Shopping, accommodation and restaurants are all within walking distance. Visitors Welcome. Visitor slip rentals start at $16/day, daily launch is $5/day and a seasonal launch pass is $60. ** This year marina users will be able to take advantage of a new joint facility agreement with the Yacht & Tennis Club which will provide renovated and clean washroom and shower facilities. For further information call 584-2000 or 584-1258 from May - October.** There is also a public boat launch that is free of charge located on Brockhouse Way across from Mackenzie High School. |
| Mackenzie Campuses | Mackenzie High School has two playing fields utilized for various sports. Behind the school is a football sized field surrounded by a 400m track and a long jump pit on one side. The second field named Centennial Campus is situated in front of Centennial Terrace on Brockhouse Way. This field is suited for soccer and rugby but also has two ball diamonds at opposite ends of the playing area. All fields are well maintained and used by various age groups. | Hunting Land | The Deep River area has acres of hunting land available to those who enjoy the outdoors and nature. |
| Lawn Bowling | This facility has eight bowling lanes and is located beside the golf club house. The club house has a kitchen and washroom facilities, locker rooms, and a viewing area for observers. |
| Tennis Courts | The Yacht & Tennis Club operates six courts that are in use from May to October. The Club runs several leagues as well as providing qualified tennis instruction for all ages and ability levels. |
| X Country Ski Trails | Good walking trails and for biking |
| Mount Martin Ski Club | The Mount Martin Ski Club (MMSC) maintains 12 runs including a glade run and terrain park (with jumps, rails and boxes), a T-bar and rope tow, right in the Town of Deep River. Most trails are groomed. All runs are patrolled by volunteers from the Canadian Ski Patrol. A heated chalet with snack bar offers users a place to socialize and warm up whether enjoying the hill during the day or when night skiing. | Silver Spoon Ski Trails (X Country) | Facilities for family, touring and racing skiers on 17 kilometres of groomed trails east of town. Heated clubhouse open on weekends and a wilderness cabin available for overnight touring new at the Chalk River and Algonquin Park boundaries. Weekday and weekend tours, adult CANSKI and Junior Jackrabbit instruction available. Time trials, divisionals and provincials coordinated by the club, together with a highly successful junior racing program. Great walking and biking trials in the summer and fall! |
| Snowmobiling Trails | The North Renfrew Snowmobile Corporation (NRSC) grooms and maintains 150 kilometres of scenic trails through wooded areas from Chalk River to Deep River, Rolphton and Stonecliffe. These trails are well-signed and groomed. The NRSC is comprised of two clubs. The Laurentian Sno Gliders and the Valley Snow Travellers. Each club has its own chalet, from which they host suppers, fishing derbies and card parties. The NRSC is a member of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. |
